Beaches of Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain is home to some of the most popular beaches in Ontario. Along with all of the great beaches, you will also find a wide array of outdoor activities such as canoeing, sightseeing and fossil tracing, which are all fan favorites of locals and visitors. If you are planning an entire day of fun in the sun, make sure to also visit our golfing page for a comprehensive guide to the top courses in the area!

Beaver River Canoeing

Perfect for any skill level, Beaver River has been a popular canoeing spot in Ontario for decades. Named after the countless number of beavers which can be found during your journey, Beaver River is the perfect place to spend a few relaxing hours with family and friends. Make sure to check the weather prior to your trip, bring clothing which you do not mind getting wet and pack a waterproof camera!

Owen Mill Sound Dam and Fish Ladder

Located less than one hour from Blue Mountain Lodges, the Owen Sound Mill Dam is the very first dam ever constructed in Ontario. The Owen Mill Sound Dam features a fish ladder which was added on in 1958 to ensure that all local fish were able to migrate upstream to lay their eggs.

Fossil Tracing

Looking for a free way to spend an afternoon? We recommend grabbing a pencil and paper, heading to the Craigleith Provincial Park and tracing some fossils. While walking along the shores, you will find fossils that have been on this earth for over 450 million years! Please remember to leave the fossils on the beach to ensure that they are there for all future visitors to enjoy.

Harbourlands & Millennium Park

Located within the historical Collingwood Terminals, the Harbourlands & Millennium Park is host to some of the most beautiful gardens and walkways in all of Collingwood. Do not forget your camera when visiting the gardens as you will find the opportunities to take stunning pictures are endless!

Nottawasaga Canoe Route

Amateurs and experts alike will love spending an afternoon journeying down 23km of pristine river waters. Make sure to bring a waterproof camera along to capture all of the amazing memories!

Sunset Point

Located in Minaki Ontario, Sunset Point offers a wide variety of activities such as fishing, kite boarding, water-skiing, tubing, swimming, hiking and boating excursions! We suggest packing a picnic and spending the day in the sun, enjoying all the great activities that Sunset Point has to offer.

Wasaga Beach

If you are looking to have the flexibility to ski one day and enjoy sandy beaches the next, Blue Mountain Lodges is the place for you. After a few days of skiing the slopes, hop in the car and take a short 40 minute drive down the road to the Wasaga Beach to enjoy miles of pristine beaches, large sand dunes, sparkling clear water and more!
